5 Novels which I wish to write in the future.

Short Synopsis of Five Future Novels
My second book, ‘Applause’ which I am at present writing, is about Marjorie Dudley the second of the Dudley sisters. Fiercely ambitious Marj moves to London to be with her husband who works for the MOD. She works as an usherette in a West End theatre and then claws her way up to become the toast of London, via white lies, a late night spot in a nightclub, black-market racketeers, hardship, friendship and the Blitz of WW2.

The third book, “China Blue” is about Claire Dudley. While training in the WAAF, Claire falls in love with a French Canadian Airman who is killed; shot as he parachutes into France. Claire escapes unhurt, returns home to England and finds she is pregnant. After the baby is born she goes back to France and works alongside the French resistance, to help British and allied servicemen escape to England.

Ena Dudley, the youngest sister, is my mother. It’s because she wanted to give a brass aeroplane back to the Polish pilot who had made it for her in WWII that I had the idea for the four books. Ena’s story is” Dixie Dean”.

At fourteen Ena is in service. One day she is left to cook and serve breakfast to a middle-aged businessman who tries to rape her. Ena fights the rapist off and escapes, but she is left so terrified that she is unable to trust anyone, especially men. When she falls in love she is confused and frightened of her feelings. On her twenty-first birthday her young man gives her an engagement ring and asks her to marry him. While they kiss each other goodnight Ena becomes paranoid. He holds her gently, but Ena feels the groping hands of her attacker. Her fiancé’s lips are tender but to Ena they are wet and gaping, bruising her. The nightmare is back. She pushes him away and breaks down. She has never told anyone about her ordeal, it isn’t done. Finally, she looses the love of her life. Thinking Ena doesn't love him, he sends his ring back to her, goes off to war and she never sees him again. Ena is heartbroken, but she is strong and in time recovers from her loss. Some years later, as a confident and successful hotelier, she mixes with the rich and famous, as well as armed gangsters.

Ena finally conquers her fears, falls in love and marries Jack. With Jack’s help Ena learns how to love and trust again. They work hard and make a success of their lives and their business only to face loosing everything when one day, because of Ena’s kindness and generosity, they are befriended by a 'man and wife' team of con-artists on the run from the police.

Contemporary Novel Future
I also plan to write a contemporary book. The working title is “Rough Diamond” or “40 into 28 Won’t Go” The story in a nutshell is about a 40 year old actress, who falls in love with a 20 something Australian conman. Her world is turned upside down when she finds herself involved in stolen cars and drugs. Finally, the actress, who is more powerful and more intelligent than he is, turns the tables on her hapless lover. He breaks her heart, but before he discredits her and destroys her reputation, she wreaks her revenge.
